Project Goal
Our goal is to ensure that all children in Armenia have access to excellent education. Education not only imparts knowledge, but also cultivates hope and fosters transformative change. For just $10,000, we can sponsor two school communities as Teach For Armenia Nation-Builders and make a profound impact. Teach For Armenia’s Nation-Builders program is an opportunity for individuals and organizations anywhere in the world to invest in the future of Armenia through education. As Nation-Builder school sponsors, we will enable the placement of Teacher-Leaders in two school communities for one academic year. Both Teacher-Leaders were forcibly displaced from Artsakh in September 2023. They now live in Armenia, where they have been placed in new schools in the Armavir and Kotayk regions, with support from Teach For Armenia.
Project Background
Teach For Armenia is a nonprofit organization that aims to transform education in Armenia. Their mission is clear: to break down barriers and create equal educational opportunities for every child, regardless of their socio-economic background. They achieve this by recruiting and training exceptional graduates and professionals to become Teacher-Leaders and teach in underserved public schools for two years. After their two-year commitment, Teacher-Leaders become Alumni-Ambassadors who continue to advocate for education across sectors and at every level of leadership. In this way, Teach For Armenia aims to fill critical teacher shortages in rural communities and transform teaching and learning nationwide.
Teach For Armenia was founded in 2013 and expanded its operations to Artsakh in 2017. You may remember that we launched a campaign in August 2023 to be the Nation-Builder sponsor of three school communities in Artsakh. The September 2023 events put an end to this campaign and broke all of our hearts.
Today, we are requesting your support to re-launch the campaign with a new twist — to sponsor two school communities in Armenia with Teacher-Leaders from Artsakh for one academic year. These Teacher-Leaders are now investing in the children of Armenia, as well as forcibly displaced students from their homeland.
The influence of your contribution will extend far beyond the initial year. The knowledge and inspiration these Teacher-Leaders impart will resonate through the lives of their students for years to come. By joining hands with Teach For Armenia as Nation-Builder school sponsors, our Ayo! family is investing in a sustainable legacy of change, empowerment, and progress.
