Project Goal
To purchase home appliances for families displaced from Artsakh now settled in Sisian.
Project Background
After Azerbaijan's attack in 2023, many families were forced to flee their homes, jobs, and lives in Artsakh, seeking refuge with relatives or renting accommodations in Armenia. Unfortunately, most rental properties were in old, abandoned buildings, lacking essential appliances like washing machines, refrigerators, and stoves, making daily life difficult.
Many families chose to settle in Armenia’s Syunik region, which shares similarities with Artsakh in terms of landscape, food and culture.
These families, now living in a vulnerable and critical part of Armenia close to the border with Azerbaijan are in urgent need of support. In response, Ayo!, in partnership with donors from Massachusetts' Merrimack Valley and our Fund for Armenian Relief office in Sisian, provided essential appliances for more than 30 large families. When these families are eventually able to purchase permanent homes, they will be able to take these appliances with them, helping to rebuild their lives.
